“Joanie Schwartz is one of our local favorites. She has been performing in clubs for 50 years all over New England. Joanie is a singer/songwriter covering a variety of styles, from the Blues, to Bluegrass, Jazz and Contemporary Folk. Her original tunes are a slice of life and heartfelt, always with a touch of humor. Joanie won first prize for an original song on a Boston Radio station, WBCN. Her guitar work will amaze you.
Joanie has opened for Richie Havens, David Bromberg, Patty Larkin, and Catie Curtis. Tracy Chapman opened for Joanie and the rest is history, well for Tracy anyway. Opening for Wanda Houston is a dream come true and you can expect some collaboration on at least a few tunes.”
