Valley Jazz Shares is proud to present an evening of captivating jazz with the Micah Thomas Trio. This extraordinary ensemble features Micah Thomas on piano, Dean Torrey on bass, and Kayvon Gordon on drums. Renowned for his inventive and boundary-pushing approach to jazz, Micah Thomas is one of the most exciting young pianists in the genre today.
Micah’s career has already been marked by a number of significant achievements, including his work with celebrated artists like Ambrose Akinmusire, Immanuel Wilkins, and Melissa Aldana, as well as his highly praised albums, Tide (2020) and Piano Solo (2022), which received the Grand Prix du Disque Award. His most recent release, Reveal (2023), showcases his skillful blend of tradition and innovation, alongside bassist Dean Torrey and drummer Kayvon Gordon. Together, they bring a dynamic, interactive, and deeply emotional performance that will captivate any jazz lover.
