Pete Bernhard and MorganEve Swain at Hawks and Reed
Pete Bernhard
Pete Bernhard is the singer and main songwriter for The Devil Makes Three and has been touring the US, Canada and Europe for nearly 18 years. He hails from a small community in southern Vermont with a family rife with musicians. His father was a singer and songwriter, his brother attended Berklee School of Music, and his aunt was a local folk musician. Immersed in music at a young age, he was drawn to older, traditional finger-picking blues and folk music.
In 2001, Pete headed to Washington State, where he formed a duo with his childhood friend Cooper McBean and began touring the west coast. When they broke down in Santa Cruz, California, they stayed with a fellow Vermonter Lucia Turino who was attending college at the University Of Santa Cruz and the band– The Devil Makes Three was born. Pete has three solo records released on Kahn Records and many more with The Devil Makes Three.
His most recent solo album Harmony Ascension Division was released April 20th 2020.
MorganEve Swain
The Huntress and Holder of Hands is the musical persona of MorganEve Swain (Brown Bird). Born out of grief, devotion, and determination, The Huntress and Holder of Hands is a five piece band that exposes Swain’s heavy post-metal, blues and grunge-rock influences, even as they are tempered by intertwining vocals and the utilization of cello, viola and string bass. The Huntress and Holder of Hands solo, is an intimate experience with Swain as she sings about love and survival. The Huntress is not for the faint of heart, but for those whose hearts swell for human connection. Fear not, Comrades in Woe.
The band’s first album, Avalon, was self-released in 2017. A new record is in the works for 2022.
